Most people find stop lights to be an inconvenience in their day, but Cassidy and Joshua have a stoplight to thank for their beautiful White Point Garden Charleston wedding! Cassidy and Joshua met at a stoplight on July 3rd when Joshua rolled down his window to ask Cassidy out for coffee. Cassidy agreed to get coffee with the cute stranger and the rest is history. Joshua is in the military and travels a lot, so the couple wanted to have a shorter engagement and get married sooner rather than later, which just so happened to allow them to get married on the anniversary of the day they met!

This couple got married at White Point Garden in Charleston on July 3rd. Their ceremony took place at the gazebo in the garden, overlooking The Battery. Charleston is very important to Cassidy’s family which played a role in why the couple chose this location for their ceremony. Cassidy wore a beautiful white jumpsuit, highlighting her personality so well and walked down the aisle to her man in uniform. Only the couple’s closest friends and family joined them for the ceremony, making it very intimate, just like they envisioned. During the ceremony, Cassidy and Joshua had communion, where they each provided the other with the communion elements: the wine and the bread, before inviting the rest of the guests to participate in communion as well. This was the first time I had seen this unique aspect in a ceremony and it was very cool to be a part of.

After the ceremony, we walked around Charleston in the summer heat, dodging mosquito bites to get some absolutely gorgeous shots of this couple that captured their love so well. The day ended at a waterfront restaurant in nearby Folly Beach, where guests gave toasts, enjoyed a meal together, and had cake! Cassidy and Josh’s wedding was an honor to be a part of and it was so much fun to capture their love for each other from behind my camera. It never ceases to amaze me how I continue to connect with friends from my past through this business of mine. I met Cassidy in high school dance classes and stayed in touch through social media, unaware that one day I would be present for one of the most important days of her life.
